I loved my corporate role, but something was always missing.
In 2011, my husband and I were one of the founders of Temple Solel, SC. A small synagogue determined to stay small. We were “dues optional” at the outset.
Temple Solel meets bi-monthly, with a focus on community worship and social action. The joy I found in this service, in a suburb of Charlotte, NC, is what put my feet on the path to where I am today. I led services, visited congregants in hospital (Bikkur Cholim) and worked in partnership with other volunteers to forge a thriving, engaged community of Jews.
In 2015, attended the URJ’s in-person “HaDrachah” lay leadership training at Camp Olin-Sang Ruby, in Wisconsin, which cemented my goal of becoming a Rabbi.
